ICanUp Articles Can Now Be Read as Series

ICanUp gained article series: related posts can be grouped into a logical sequence, read in a defined order, and navigated through previous and next parts.

Some technical topics cannot be explained well in a single article. They naturally continue from a basic problem to a solution, from the first implementation to optimization and real-world experience.

ICanUp gained Post Series for this kind of content.

Related articles can now be grouped into one sequence with its own title, description, and explicit reading order.

A series became a first-class content entity

Public Series Page

Each active series has a public page with its title, description, and an ordered list of published articles.

Explicit Order

Article position is defined explicitly and does not depend on publication date.

Two Locales

Series titles and descriptions are localized while Ukrainian and English pages reuse the existing ICanUp routing system.

Independent Posts

A post can exist without a series, and deleting a series does not delete its articles.

Ordering can be managed from Admin

Series membership and article order are managed separately from article content.

Existing posts can be added, removed, and reordered directly from the series editor using drag and drop.

The same relationship can also be changed from the post editor.

After every structural change, positions are normalized into a continuous sequence, while a post can belong to only one series at a time.

Readers always know what comes next

Series Position

The post page shows that the article belongs to a series and where it appears in the sequence.

Previous Article

When a published part exists before the current article, readers can open it directly.

Next Article

After finishing an article, readers can continue directly to the next logical part.

Complete Series

A dedicated link opens the full series page and its complete reading order.

Series became complete public pages

Post Series reuse the same SEO foundation as other public ICanUp content.

Active series have canonical URLs, localized alternatives, Open Graph metadata, and structured breadcrumbs. They are included in the sitemap, while inactive series stay outside the indexable public set.

When a public series is created or changed, its localized URLs also pass through the existing IndexNow flow so search engines can discover updates faster.

Series views became part of analytics

The public series page became a dedicated content type in ICanUp first-party analytics.

Series support views and deduplicated views together with the locale, geography, device, traffic, and other dimensions already available in the shared analytics system.

Opening a series page does not artificially add views to every post card rendered on it. The view belongs to the series page itself.

Series continued to evolve

The feature continued to grow after its initial release.

On September 10, series gained optional cover images that can be used on public pages and in content collections.

The Admin area also gained full localized SEO management for Ukrainian and English using the same shared SEO architecture as other public content types.

A series cover can also serve as its social image when available, with the existing global image remaining as the fallback.
